Cipheroptics Announces New Managment Team

--Former FORE Systems executives in place to drive growth and profitability.--

Raleigh, NC, September 29, 2009- CipherOptics today announces the introduction of a new management team. Leading the new team is Thomas J. Gill, the former CEO and President of FORE Systems, who has been appointed Chairman and CEO of CipherOptics. Several other former FORE Systems executives have also joined CipherOptics including Gary Brunner as Chief Financial Officer, Kevin Nigh as Senior Vice President of Engineering, and Kirk Wrigley as Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development.

Jim Doherty will continue in his role as Chief Marketing Officer. Also remaining are the product marketing, operations and engineering teams, which spearheaded the original development and subsequent releases of the CipherEngine Policy and Key Management solution and CipherOptics' line of high speed, low latency encryption appliances.

"With the new management team in place, we are confident that CipherOptics can take advantage of its technical leadership and the growing market opportunity for policy and key management and network encryption," said Martin Neath, General Partner at Adams Capital Management and CipherOptics Board Director. "The new leadership team, along with the existing senior managers and employees, are well positioned to take CipherOptics to the next stage of growth and profitability."

The new team's combined experience and expertise in both the private and public sector, as well as their proven track record in leading technology companies through high growth phases, positions CipherOptics to become the market leader in policy and key management solutions for data encryption. From 1993 to 2000, the team held key leadership positions with FORE Systems, Inc., a designer, developer and manufacturer of high-speed networking equipment, taking it from a small start-up to a company with more than 2,000 employees and annual sales of $632 million, prior to being acquired by Britain's General Electric Company (GEC, plc).

"We are all very excited to join the CipherOptics team," said Tom Gill, CEO of CipherOptics. "CipherOptics has developed a powerful technology that makes the task of deploying and managing data encryption easy. With a strong customer base and growing demand, we see a great opportunity and are excited by the challenges and opportunities ahead of us."
