CipherOptics data protection gateways now available through EMC Select Program
Program provides customers with a single-source for secure storage networkingRaleigh, N.C.(Aug. 9, 2005) - CipherOptics Inc., the leading innovator of high-speed data protection gateways that secure data in motion over IP networks, today announced that CipherOptics gateways are now available through the EMC Select Program. Through this program customers can now purchase complete secure storage networking solutions directly from EMC. The EMC Select Program helps customers easily acquire all the required components to deploy an end-to-end Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solution.
EMC will offer the CipherOptics SG1002 Gigabit Ethernet data protection gateway and the CipherOptics SG100 Fast Ethernet data protection gateway. The CipherOptics family of data protection gateways protect storage data in motion at full line rates, with virtually no latency and no impact on network infrastructure.
The combination of CipherOptics data protection technology with EMC’s storage networking solutions will enable customers to secure their storage data with no impact on their applications. CipherOptics technology also enables customers to take advantage of the cost and distance benefits of IP-based storage networking because it encrypts the data while traveling over a shared infrastructure, eliminating the risk that the data will be sniffed and accessed by an unauthorized user.

With its exclusive TILEA™ encryption architecture, the CipherOptics SG1002 can do what other solutions cannot: deliver gigabit-speed data protection with complete network transparency and virtually no latency. The CipherOptics SG100 provides the same level of high-performance data protection at 100 Mbps. CipherOptics data protection gateways support jumbo frames and iSCSI natively, and can support FCIP, SRDF and any other IP protocol with an additional switch. Both products have achieved e-Lab qualification for interoperability with the CLARiiON Family, as well as Symmetrix DMX Series.
