The Leading Innovator of Compliance Grade Data Protection Solutions Selects RMI’s XLR Processor to Further Innovation

-- Innovative Multi-Core Multi-Threaded Processor Chosen for CipherOptics Industry Leading CipherEngine Encryption Solution --

CUPERTINO, Calif., November 13, 2007 Raza Microelectronics®, Inc. (RMI), the leading supplier of multi-core multi-threaded processors for networking, communications and consumer applications, and CipherOptics®, Inc., the leading Innovator of Compliance Grade™ Data Protection Solutions, announced today that CipherOptics has selected RMI’s XLR Processor™ as part of its CipherEngine™ Solution.

CipherOptics is an industry leader in simplified data security and network encryption, offering a simple way for organizations to ensure their company and customer data is protected as it travels across internal, third party or global networks. CipherOptics’ network-wide encryption solution, CipherEngine, has been deployed in companies ranging from small healthcare systems to global manufacturers. CipherEngine also protects government networks ranging from small cities to major federal agencies and military systems.

"The addition of RMI's advanced XLR Processor allows us to create a universal platform from which we can add new products and new features to our CipherEngine solution," said Ron Willis, president and CEO for CipherOptics. “The net result is unprecedented scalability and flexibility with regards to throughput, functionality and form factor.”

CipherEngine™ delivers unmatched network-wide encryption capabilities to customers by providing an innovative approach to security policy and encryption key management that does not impact network architecture, routing policies or end-user experience. The unique and innovative architecture of the XLR Processor provides expanded functionality and greater flexibility in the means by which customers can deploy network-wide data encryption.

RMI’s XLR Processor is a cost-effective, single-chip solution providing a key building block for next-generation, scalable multi-service systems. The XLR Processor is offered as a complete family of pin-compatible processors, spanning performance and bandwidth to enable multiple applications with a single board design. RMI’s XLR Processor™ Family provides the power of its multi-core, multi-threaded architecture - based on the simplicity of a leading-edge, general purpose MIPS64™ processor - enables wire speed, software-driven applications across multiple platforms.

“We are proud to work with CipherOptics. Their vision and innovation in data security and network encryption gives us an opportunity to showcase the scalable capabilities of the XLR Processor in a secured networking environment,” said Lance L. Smith, vice president and general manager, Scalable Processor Solutions, at RMI. "The XLR Processor, complete with accelerated security, offers the protection and functionality CipherOptics’ customers require.”
